Marketing Associate

The Marketing Associate’s primary role is to support the marketing, PR and Development efforts under the direction of the Development and Communications Director.  The Marketing Associate operates donor database software and updates event calendars and social media platforms with VYT productions, classes, camps, and fund-raising events.  The position also assists with the creation, development and implementation of print and online marketing materials. works with the Development and Communications Director to cultivate and recognize donors.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Development & Marketing Director with the promotion of productions, educational classes and camps, and fundraising events.
  • Assist with the development of marketing materials including tracking and ensuring collateral is printed and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Schedule and coordinate social media campaigns.
  • Attend events to acquire/produce social media content.
  • May write press releases, media alerts and follow up with press contacts.
  • Assist other departments with graphic/marketing materials as needed.
  • Website maintenance and updating including but not limited to Alumni pages, audition and submission information, ticketing and class information
  • Organize media drives and physical marketing collateral.
  • Review requests received for gift certificate donations with Managing Director or Producing Artistic Director. Create, track and distribute approved gift certificate donations
  • Updates and maintains donor database software including preparing and mailing donor, sponsor and vendor recognition letters.
  • Manage Audience View Database:
    • Ensure customers and customer fields are complete and up to date
    • Process outside reports and update as needed.
  • Represent Valley Youth Theatre at special donor and marketing related events, ensuring all established procedures are being followed.
  • Set up and logistics for board meetings, and retreats as needed.
  • Assist with and attend all VYT fundraising events (i.e. VYTal Affair, Oscar Party, VYTee Golf Tournament, etc.)
  • Performs special projects and assignments as directed by the Development and Communications Director, Education and Outreach Director, and Managing Director.
  • Assist as needed with the creation and implementation of VYT’s strategic plan.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Technical Director

The Technical Director is responsible for all technical aspects of both Theatres and facilities, including and not limited to Sets, Lighting, Sound and Facilities maintenance. This position is also responsible for set construction for each main stage show, organizing, and directing parent volunteers, identifying and communicating over-hire staff needs. The Technical Director participates with the Management Staff to accomplish the overall goals and objectives of Valley Youth Theatre. The position is full-time, non-exempt and benefits eligible. Hours are reflective of the dynamic schedule of the theater. Includes required evening and weekend shifts.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for building the sets for each production including coordination of parent volunteers and working with Producing Artistic Director to identify, supervise, and retain over-hire staff.
Responsible for all technical aspects, general maintenance and upkeep of the theatre and warehouse facilities including Sets, Lighting and Sound.
Responsible for the organization, inventory, and maintenance of all equipment, sets, and props as well as lighting, lighting instructions, and sound equipment.
Work with scenic designers and supply working drawings for set construction, as well as working with lighting and sound designers pre-show opening and post show strike on Valley Youth Theatre’s main stage as well as at the Herberger Theater Center. Participate as a professional crewmember for shows produced at the Herberger Theater Center including load in and other responsibilities.
Responsible for tracking, invoicing and the safe return of all rented and loaned sets and props.
Inventory all tools and building supplies and maintain sufficient supplies regarding the maintenance and upkeep of the building. which includes paper towels, trash bags, mops, brooms, cleaning solutions.
Responsible for set-up and tear down of special events, meetings and other activities taking place in the theatre facilities. Supervises facilities during rental periods by outside companies.
Responsible for maintaining budgets regarding set construction, lighting, sound theater maintenance rentals, etc.
Monitor trash collection internally as well as monitoring trash collection in regard to strike, and restoration of Theatre facilities after each production.
General administrative responsibilities as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Job Type: Full-Time
Bachelors Degree in Technical Theater
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Theatre operations
Flexibility, analytical skills, excellent communication, planning and organizational skills a must.
Ability to successfully work effectively alone and with a wide variety of people and personalities.
Working knowledge of Word and Excel important as well as understanding of software used to operate a Theatre.
Takes initiative, exercises independent judgement, works collaboratively within a team and across departments.
Available to work hours reflective of the dynamic schedule of the theater. Includes required evening and weekend shifts.
Salary: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 (Yearly Salary)
