One of our most beloved events, Sponsor-A-Seat, is quickly approaching. As an integral part of our 21st season, we are again offering this special day to hundreds of needy children. This will be our 14th year working with Valley social service agencies to provide much needed exposure to the performing arts to underprivileged children who may not otherwise have such an opportunity. Our Board Members, Staff, Performers and Volunteers all contribute to SAS, but we definitely couldn’t do it without your support -- and we hope you’ll join us again this year for the 14th annual Sponsor-A-Seat event!
Last year, we were excited to welcome nearly 1,000 youth to participate in this event. Youth who came from broken homes, domestic violence, physical disabilities and poverty. Won’t you share the magic again with them this year?
As you are well aware, non-profit agencies are struggling during this tough economy. Sponsor-A-Seat is an opportunity to help VYT to help other agencies who serve children. We have many partnerships with other charities, in order to help increase access to the performing arts and to create a collaborative relationship with other entities dedicated to helping our youth. A recent survey found that 84% of Arizona arts organizations are experiencing a decrease in contributions. We are committed to maintaining our current level of service to the community, but we need your help to do it!
This year, we will be inviting disadvantaged and at-risk children representing over 20 social service organizations (Chrysalis Shelter, Crisis Nursery, Salvation Army and many more) throughout the Greater Phoenix area to be our guests for a special matinee performance of one of our productions. The children will also enjoy a complimentary lunch with the cast and crew.
Your tax-deductible donation sponsors children to participate in this magical event. Please consider sponsoring more than one child and help us “fill the theatre with smiles.” As a sponsor, your name will appear in one of our playbills and on a poster in the lobby at the event; and you will know in your heart that you made a difference in the life of a child.
