Weekday Classes

Introduction to Improv

Students study the fundamentals of comedy improvisation taught by the valley’s best improv performers and directors.  Students learn how to create original characters, scenes, and comedic techniques. Students will showcase their work at a VYT Ha Ha’s Main stage show at the end of each session.              
$180.00 Mondays 6:30-8:00pm (Ages 13+)
Showcases: Fall- November 19th, Winter -March 10th,
Spring - May 12th 
 

Musical Theatre

Students study the elements of musical theatre including diction, pitch, rhythm, tempo, and ensemble work as well as the technical languages of music, acting and dance in this exciting class.  Students will showcase ensemble numbers from Broadway shows.  No experience necessary.
$150.00 (8 weeks + showcase)
Tuesdays 5:00-6:25pm (Ages 5-8)
6:35-8:00pm (Ages 9+)

Acting Technique

Students build their performing arts foundation by studying the fundamentals of acting including voice, movement, characterization, and stage direction. No prior experience is necessary.
$150.00 (8 weeks + showcase)
Wednesdays 5:00-6:25pm (Ages 7-11)

Acting OUT

Students will gain valuable performance training through creating and performing scenes, Improvisations and monologues. They will work with classical, contemporary, and original scripts.  Experience is welcome, but not necessary.

Wednesdays 6:35-8:00pm (Ages 12+)
 

Triple Threat

Fall: Dance, Movement, Ensemble performance
Winter: Singing for the stage- Solo/Ensemble Performance
Spring: Acting and Scene work
Triple Threat is for the serious young performer. These classes will strengthen students’ foundation in the big three performing arts disciplines: singing, acting, and dancing. Each session focuses on one genre on performance. Class size is limited. Experience is welcome, but not necessary.
$150.00 (8 weeks + showcase)
Thursdays 5:00-6:30PM(Ages 12+)

Audition Prep Individual Performance

Scheduled individually upon availability
Preparing for an audition?  Want personal training? Work one on one with VYT to improve your performance skills in voice, cold readings, monologue performance, characterization, and stage presence.  Sessions can be scheduled on an as needed basis.
$45.00 /30 min session, $70.00/ 1 hour session


 

Weekend Classes

Treasure Trunk Theatre 

Students will use movement, characterization, and their imaginations to create an original or adapted work to perform for family and friends the last day of class. No experience is necessary.
$100.00 (8 weeks)
Saturdays 9:00-9:55am (Ages 5-8)

Play Pretend

This class is specially designed for your little tyke! Students will learn how to use their body, voice and imagination to bring a familiar story to life on stage which will be performed for family and friends the last day of class. No experience is necessary.

Saturdays 10:00-10:45am (Ages 3-4)

Mr. Mark’s Musical Theatre Audition Workshop

Learn how to prepare for a musical theatre audition from VYT’s award winning Music Director Mark Fearey. In this four week intensive class, students will prepare an audition song, sharpen cold reading skills, and gain valuable dance experience.  Classes run for three hours, four consecutive weekends.  Class size is limited.  No experience is necessary.

Session 2: March 3rd- 24th
Saturdays 9am-Noon (Ages 9+) 

 

Class Showcases

Participating classes will collectively showcase their work in an evening performance following the conclusion of each session.
