Ballots were cast by season members during each of the season's six shows to recognize a cast member in the categories of Best Ensemble Member, Best Supporting Performer and Best Principal Performer. Cast and crew members then voted at the conclusion of each show for the peer they believed best served as a role model by their work both on and off stage to receive the Inspiration Award for that show.

Awards were given in the areas technical design for sets, lighting and sound as well as directing, choreography, music and overall production.

Attendees enjoyed a live performance from this season's Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and video clips from each of the shows from the 2006-2007 season.

Comments from Audience members:

"What a night! As usual, the kids were fantastic in their live performances. I also really enjoyed seeing video clips of all our shows last season. The 30 second clip of Joe and Beth singing "Some Things Are Meant to Be" from Little Women had the whole audience, including Cory McCloskey, in tears! What a season! Starting with CATS and ending with High School Musical, this was the best season ever at Valley Youth Theatre in my opinion. " Lorna Pederson, Board Chair

".what blew me away the most was my own emotional reaction to seeing those kids get the awards. For those of you who weren't there, some of winners weren't even as tall as the podium. They were humble, composed, funny . it brings a tear to my eye just remembering." Marten Niner, Board Member

"These kids were an inspiration to me.. They go for 24 hours straight, full of energy and come back the next day ready to do it again. Valley Youth Theatre is amazing. I tell everyone about it." Cory McCloskey, Channel 10 Weatherman, and Inspiration Award recipient for his role as Coach Bolton in High School Musical

"I love that we give an "ensemble" award for each show..(sometimes it's harder being in the ensemble with long back stage time, etc...) and we all know that a strong ensemble means a great show. I loved the video clips from the shows -- what a nice way to highlight the season, and go down "memory lane".

I loved that the evening was not too long! Just the right amount of performances and awards and it didn't drone on and on! It never got "boring". I loved the recognition for the orchestra. I loved the inspiration awards. I loved how happy the kids were just spending an evening together, and I of course enjoyed hanging with the parents!" Marylou Stephens, Parent Auxiliary Board President

"This is great! I am glad we came and we'll be back next year!" Rob Hooper, parent of VYT Alumnus Matt Hooper
